Chase and her Pedigree
Chase and her Pedigree

Like many fans of the breed, we saw our first PBGV while watching the Westminster Kennel Club All Champion Show.  We attended many breed shows to meet Petits and their breeders.  After two years of waiting, we picked up our first PBGV at Boston ’s Logan Airport, December 1998.  Strathmore Katey Willow instantly became a household favorite with a tail that always wags and a hug and kiss for everyone.  Our first show with Willow, and our first handling experience, was the 1999 PBGVCA Eastern Regional and National Specialty Show in Charlotte, NC.  We continued to show Willow in many all-breed shows but she didn’t enjoy herself so she was retired.  We are privileged to now own and love CH.  Foxmead ’s Chasseuse des Rêves.  "Chase ", from the last litter of the remarkable brood bitch CH.  Sirhan Etoile Filante, finished in 4 weekends from the classes, with 21 points and three Best of Breeds over nationally ranked special males.  Chase is full sister to eleven champions, including the renown CH. Foxmead's La Belle Sauterelle, four time All Breed Best In Show Winner,  One Best In Specialty Show, number one ranked PBGV three times (1991, 1992, 1994) and still holder of the record for the most Petit Basset Griffon Vendeen defeated lifetime, with 2,128.  Chase, with only two breeding's, (the first one a singleton puppy), is the dam of CH.  Chien Blanc Valentina, Winners Bitch of the 2000 Empire Specialty Pier Show, and CH. Chien Blanc Bon Vivant, who finished in two weekends.  Although relatively new to the breed, we have become students of all aspects of the breed through our collaboration with mentor Dorothea Garrett, recognized as one of the premier PBGV breeders in the USA.  (Dot was asked by the members of the PBGVCA to judge the 2001 Midwestern Regional Specialty Sweepstakes).  Dot sold us Chase when she was confident of our abilities and commitment to the breed.
